GIMME SOME WINE: The Story of a Song
SYNOPSIS
Chris Gollon was a leading British artist with books published on his work and major museum acquisitions, including the British Museum. Irish singer-songwriter Eleanor McEvoy bought a painting by Chris Gollon, which started to inspire a whole album, and once she met Chris, they knew they had to collaborate in some way, but how?
A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:
Chris Gollon had a lifelong interest in artistic boundary crossing, and how one art form can influence another and take it in new directions. In this short documentary, I wanted to focus on the last series of paintings he made, before his untimely death in 2017, and to look at his very unique two-year collaboration with Eleanor McEvoy, and how they quite literally spoke to each other through their art forms, each taking the other into new areas of thought and feeling.
