Self-Reliance and Dignity of Risk
A guided conversation on the dignity of risk, housing and work for people with intellectual disabilities, and the important role of family members and service providers in supporting people to achieve their greatest level of independence.
Dee Metrick is the Community Relations and Development Director of Reach Inc., a local, private nonprofit that provides residential, vocational, and transportation services to over 100 adults with developmental disabilities in the Gallatin Valley. Dee has worked at Reach Inc. for over 19 years, and has been in the field for over 20. She is the extremely proud aunt of an amazing eight year old with Down Syndrome.
Lois was born and raised in Montana, and has been a client of Reach, Inc. for 29 years. She is determined and expressive in her self-advocacy, which includes getting and maintaining a volunteer position at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital that began in 2008.
